NYPOWER 23 will be…
Due to NYS outdoor attendance regulations we unfortunately can NOT have NYPOWER this year.
12,000′ AGL Waiver
Registration for NYPOWER is NOW OPEN!
Since MARS is also now a Tripoli Club, NYPOWER will be flying under Tripoli Research Rules.
In May, downwind crops are very low or just recently planted. No lost rockets in the corn or beans! This is the must attend event at the start of the flying season- recently cut grass flying field, easy recovery, and convenient to civilization in Geneseo or Rochester.
Make your plans to attend the NYPOWER. As always this launch will provide the unique experience that only NYPOWER provides. Friendly great rocketeers, huge mowed field, WWII warbirds in the air and on the ground and a great time for all.
NYPOWER is a Family Friendly relaxed launch where micro-max’s and N powered monsters share the field. Rocket maniacs and families with kids are welcome at NYPOWER. There is really no rocket event quite like it in this regard. Our organization will have you on the pad as quickly and efficiently as possible. This is the event to attend if you want to fly fly fly!
The field is a WWII era grass airfield which is now home to the National Warplane Museum. You have a 1 mile x 1 mile mowed grass recovery area and if you exceed that the staff at NYPOWER will do its best to recover your rocket for you. We have chainsaws and the biggest slingshot you’ve ever seen!
Self contained campers are allowed, Sorry NO TENTS. (No hookups of any kind are available PLAN AHEAD)
Ben and Elaine Russell will be hosting a 60 minute “Intro to Tripoli Research Motors” session on the evening of the 24th . The session will cover the basics of what is needed to safely make your own research reloads. They will be holding their “An Introduction to Propellant Making” work shop on July 23rd. Students attending the work shop mix and cast a J class 54 mm reload which is compatible with the Loki 54/1200 case or the Aerotech 54/1280 case. Contact Ben Russell at email@example.com for work shop registration and details. The seminar and work shop will be held onsite at the museum.
